If you want to avoid any trouble when entering into Bali or anywhere else in Indonesia then your passport needs to fulfil certain requirements.
That’s of course number one. If you you are holder of a passport that needs to have a Visa to travel to Bali, then this must be sorted out first.
Updated VISA requirements for Bali – Indonesia
Your passport must be valid AT LEAST 6 MONTHS at the day of arrival. Not a single day less. The immigration officers are strict on this, and will deny entry. Usually the airline employees when you are checking in for your flight to Bali, will have to check and deny boarding, if your passport is not valid for at least 6 months. In case they might let you through the chances are 99.999% that the immigration officer will send you back on the next flight.
We receive reports that some immigration officers are getting quite strict when looking at the overall condition of the passport, Ripped pages for example, or water damages can be a problem, and you might be denied entry. Make sure your passport is in good condition and there are no damages,
The immigration officers need space to put the visa or arrival and departure stamp into your passport. Make sure you have at least 1 empty page, so you won’t get into trouble.
These temporary documents are not accepted. This is the statement of the Immigration Department on their Website:
” Holders of travel document other than passport (Laissez Passer, Titre de voyage, Travel Document, Document of Identity, Certificate of Identity, Alien Passport, Alien Travel Document, Emergency Travel Document, Emergency Passport; or Temporary Passport) are not eligible to apply Visitor Visa.”
