Final Declaration – G20 Summit in Bali 2022

The head of states attending the G20 have passed the final declaration. Even though the Indonesia’s G20 presidency was supposed to be about sustainability, technology and economic recovery, the war in Ukraine was dominating the agendas which is mirrored in the final declaration.

The 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit in Bali

15 – 16 November 2022

For the first time, Indonesia holds the G20 Presidency, a cooperation forum of 20 of the world’s major economies.

The Indonesian presidency started December 1st, 2021, and will end on November 30, 2022.

The G20 is an international forum focusing on policy coordination in economics and development. It represents the world’s economic and political power, with its member representing 80% of the world’s GDP, 75% of global exports, and 60% of the global population The G20 consists of 19 countries and the EU: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, People’s Republic of China (PRC), France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union.

The Indonesian Presidency is focusing on three priorities

  • Strengthening of Global Health Architecture
  • Digital Transformation
  • Energy Transition

The highlight of the activities of the Indonesian G20 Presidency is the Bali Summit, which took place on November 15 -16, 2022.

 

The Bali Summit

Restrictions (PPKM Circular Letter 35425/SEKRET/2022) from 12 – 17th of November

HOMEOFFICE – The governor has asked all employees and students  to work from home (Districts: Kuta, Kuta Utara, Badung, South Denpasar)

AIRPORT & IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT – Ngurah Rai International Airport will be heavily impacted and it is advised to check with the airlines if your flight schedule is affected. Travelers leaving Bali should arrive at the airport at least 3h before their departure. 

ROADS – following roads will be fully or partially closed to the public:

  • Road to the Apurva Kempinski Hotel from 12-17 November 2022 (Nusa Dua)
  • Road to ITDC Nusa Dua from 12-17 November 2022.
  • Bali Mandara Toll Road on November 15, 2022.
  • Tahura Area Mangrove Seeding, in Badung Regency and Denpasar City, November 15-16, 2022.
  • The area of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue (GWK) 

In any case very heavy traffic is expected in south Bali.
